Mashomack Preserve accounts for approximately
one third of Shelter Island. The preserve
does not have any restaurants, marinas, shops or
banks but is rich with ospreys and various other
types of wildlife. This area of Shelter
Island is also blessed with two great anchorages;
Majors Harbor & Smiths Cove.
