Greenport is the home of several local
beaches and has access to many other nearby beaches.

NOTICE
ABOUT BEACH PARKING PERMITS
Using public beaches in Greenport and
the Town of Southold requires a beach parking
permit. Day passes can be acquired at Norman
Kilp Park, Town Beach and New Suffolk Beach.
Other passes can be acquired by calling the Southold
Town Recreation Department at (631) 765-5182.

Norman E. Kilp Marine park is located just to the east
of the Greenport Jedi and at the end of Manhasset
Avenue (click
here for a map). The park offers access
to a beach, playground equipment, bathrooms and a boat
ramp. See the notice above
for information on obtaining a beach parking
permit. Seasonal passes are available through the
Southold Town Hall.

Town Beach
Sound Avenue (Route 48)

The Town Beach is a sandy family beach overlooking Long Island
Sound. This beach is the most popular in Southold Township.
The beach has lifeguards and beach attendants on duty during the
summer. The beach also offers a playground, picnic area and
bathrooms. Southold Town parking Permit is required (see
